What comes in your mind when you think about college? Is it the studies, the course over there? Or the friends you will make? Or the experience you will gain? Or to leave it all apart, it is about all the different and new things you are going to try?
College can be overwhelming, but if you want to explore then you have to get out of all the books, courses, and studies, no matter how good or bad your grades are one should always explore more and try to achieve his or her passion with various activities, in a way extracurricular activities are great ways to get your foot in the door of your passion.

Joining different activities outside the classroom can be a great way to make new friends, to meet like-minded people, and it can also be a perfect addition to your resume. The extracurricular activity that you opt-in college can build a path for your future, hence it is very important to select the right activity, here are a few points that will help you in it:
Extracurriculars are a broad category, to begin with, there are thousands of activities that come under it, you need to have proper selection criteria, it should be something that you enjoy doing or have interest in, it can be any one of your hobbies or just simply an activity that you go for just to pass time.
People often like to take up challenges, so while choosing your extracurricular activities if you want to add a bit of spice to it then you can go for various challenging activities, it will require a lot of hard work and time, but once you complete it are done with various tasks concerning this particular activity, the satisfaction you will receive will be very different. Just set a goal and strive hard to achieve it.

Always take up those activities that are going to help you in the future, do not get involved in too many activities, it can lead to an unbalance between studies and extracurricular activities. Choosing an activity is an important choice you make because you have to give a lot of time and energy into it, so take up those activities which you think you can manage without letting your grades drop. Multitasking is an important ingredient in this process, if you can master this skill then you are good to go.
While choosing an extracurricular activity make sure you have the passion for it, being able to enjoy something is a great way to pursue it as your hobby. You can also join a new activity, wherein you don't have any prior experience. It's always worth a shot! It might turn out to be your career choice or future goal.

You can even opt for activities that help others, you can do social work, help society, look for clubs in college that meets your aims and goals, and join them. This can be a great way of volunteering and gaining some community experience.
Lastly, be careful not to change your mind too many times. Take up the activity that you care about so that you don’t leave it in between and can simply perform with ease. If you change your activity too many times then you may come across as flaky and noncommittal. Hence, try to be more judicious while choosing the activity.
Extracurricular activities can boost your college success. A healthy balance should be maintained and with good time management and scheduling, there is no reason this can’t be achieved.
